Baked crispy, full of aroma thanks to fine spices and crumb candies. The base of the dough is made from flour, water and sweeteners without the addition of fats of any kind.
The sweeteners used for the dough are mainly farin sugar, crumb candy, sugar beet syrup and honey. The spice mixture consists of cinnamon, anise, cloves, cardamom, real coriander, allspice, and also orange peel. The percentage of the seasoning in the mixture is a closely guarded Lambertz secret.
Aachener Printen have ben produced in the city of Aachen from about 1820. The product is protected with a geographical indication by the European Union.
